class attire
general information
All dance shoes are to be purchased through the Dance Studio. We offer high quality shoes at a less expensive price than some of the big box stores. All shoes are fit to give your dancer a year’s worth of growth. Classes will be fitted for shoes during the first few weeks of class.
Tiny Tots
Dancers should wear form-fitting dance attire in any color. Hair should be securely pulled back off the neck and face. White ballet shoes are required.
Ballet
Dancers should wear form-fitting dance attire in any color. Hair should be neatly secured in a ballet bun. If you need help creating a ballet bun, please ask your instructor for tips. Pink, skin-tone, or black ballet shoes are acceptable.
Jazz | Contemporary | Lyrical
Dancers should wear form-fitting dance attire in any color. Fitted shorts may be worn. Hair should be securely pulled back off the neck and face. Tan slip-on jazz shoes are required for Jazz. Contemporary and Lyrical classes are taken barefoot.
Acro
Dancers should wear form-fitting athletic or dance attire in any color that allows for a full range of movement. Hair should be securely pulled back off the neck and face. Classes are taken barefoot. Footless tights may be worn if desired.
Tap
Dancers should wear form-fitting dance attire in any color. Fitted shorts may be worn. Hair should be securely pulled back off the neck and face. Tan tap shoes are required for Ballet/Tap Combo, Level 1, and Level 2 classes. Level 3 and above should wear black tap shoes.
Hip Hop
Students may wear loose-fitting athletic clothing that allows for movement, such as sweatpants, joggers, baggy shorts, or t-shirts. Jeans and school clothes are not permitted. Studio-approved hip hop sneakers are required. Please carry your shoes into the studio and change into them before class to help keep our dance floors clean.
Yoga
Students should wear comfortable, fitted athletic clothing that allows for stretching and movement. Hair should be securely pulled back if needed. Yoga classes are taken barefoot. Please bring a water bottle, and if you have one, you are welcome to bring your own yoga mat.
Adult Students
There is no dress code for adult classes. Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely and comfortably. Please wear the appropriate footwear for your class style (or barefoot for classes such as Yoga and Contemporary).
